THE EYE BEHIND PALM AND RHODE

Kelly Sandbach is primary designer of Palm & Rhode. Her eye for places and things with historical charm was honed by her New England upbringing. Growing up in Massachusetts, one drive could take you past houses clad in sun-faded cedar shingles, then rows of preserved brownstones, each older than the last.

In 2015, Kelly she made her descent to South Florida. Unlike the common migratory pattern of northerners flying south for respite, Kelly arrived seeking renewal. What began as a necessary change became a true homecoming. A place to rebuild, reimagine, and begin again.

“A place to rebuild, reimagine, and begin again.”

She found herself captivated by local history and the flora and fauna that make this place distinct. When she began to build her own roost, that fascination took form. She sifted through thrift shops and vintage stores to create a nursery for her first daughter, drawn to pieces with age, texture, and story.

Creativity had always been her language. From painting and fine art to a career as a makeup artist, Kelly’s instinct has long been to shape her surroundings through beauty and detail. Interior design became the natural evolution of that impulse – a shift in medium from the personal to the environmental.

As her own home took shape, so did her practice. What began as a personal undertaking quietly drew attention. Friends, then followers, began seeking her guidance.

Palm & Rhode emerged from that momentum. Today, Kelly works closely and collaboratively with clients to create spaces that feel layered, grounded, and entirely their own.

A collaborative approach, shaped around you.
